Our Local Area Needs Assessment (LANA) shows the most important health and service needs in North West Queensland.

We found these priorities by:

  • listening to our patients, communities, health partners and staff
  • reviewing local health data, risk factors and health service use.

Health care priorities

Our LANA highlights the key health priorities for our region.

These include:

  • long term health conditions (such as diabetes, kidney or lung problems)
  • heart health (including heart disease caused by infection, like rheumatic heart disease)
  • alcohol, other drugs and addiction support
  • oral health
  • health education and prevention
  • First Nations health and wellbeing
  • maternity, child and youth health
  • community health and GP services
  • family and domestic violence.
