Reminder to book an appointment with the visiting BreastScreen service

15th April 2024

BreastScreen Queensland’s mobile screening van will be visiting the North West for three months, starting in Camooweal on 5th June.

BreastScreen Queensland is encouraging all women aged 50 to 74 to take advantage of the van’s visit to the North West and make an appointment for a screening.

The van will be in:

  • Camooweal from 5 – 7 June at Camooweal Primary Health Centre
  • Djarra from 10 – 11 June at Djarra Primary Health Centre
  • Boulia from 12 – 14 June at Boulia Primary Health Centre
  • Mount Isa City from 20 June – 5 July at Mount Isa Based Hospital

A breast screen is one of the best ways to detect breast cancer early. On average, one in eight Queensland women will be diagnosed with breast cancer and, of those, 90 per cent will have no family history of the illness.

Women in their 40’s and 75 years and older are also eligible to book an appointment. A doctor’s referral is not required to attend the mobile screening service.

Call BreastScreen Queensland on 13 20 50 to make an appointment today.

If you notice any changes in your breasts before your appointment, please consult with your doctor as soon as possible.
