Andrew Quabba appointed Chief Operating Officer at North West Hospital and Health Service
North West Hospital and Health Service (HHS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Andrew Quabba as the organisation’s new Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Mr Quabba has been acting in the COO role for the past 10 months and brings extensive experience and a deep understanding of the unique needs of rural and remote healthcare.
He has been part of North West HHS since moving to the region 2019, having served in several key leadership roles, including Senior Outreach Pharmacist, Director of Pharmacy and Executive Director of Allied Health.
With a Bachelor of Pharmacy and postgraduate qualifications in healthcare management, Mr Quabba was also the inaugural Chair of the North West HHS Clinical Council, where he played a vital role in strengthening clinical leadership and embedding a strong clinician voice across the service.
Chief Executive of North West HHS, Mr Sean Birgan welcomed the appointment, highlighting Andrew’s proven leadership and commitment to continuous improvement.
“Andrew has demonstrated outstanding leadership during his time in the acting role and his deep connection to our communities makes him the ideal person to lead operational service delivery,” said Mr Birgan.
“His passion for rural and remote healthcare, combined with his collaborative and forward-thinking approach, will continue to drive high-quality care across the North West.”
Mr Quabba said he was honoured to accept the permanent position and looks forward to continuing to serve the region.
“I am incredibly proud to be part of the North West HHS team and excited to take on the role of COO permanently,” Mr Quabba said.
“It’s a privilege to work alongside such dedicated staff and I look forward to strengthening partnerships with our community providers and empowering our teams to deliver excellent care.”
Mr Quabba’s focus will remain on driving service improvement, fostering innovation and ensuring that healthcare across the North West continues to meet the needs of the communities we serve.
Outside of work he enjoys camping, fishing, and playing cricket for the Panthers. He also previously played Rugby League for the Townies.
