North West Hospital and Health Service (HHS) is pleased to announce the appointment of
Mr Andrew Quabba as Health Service Chief Executive, effective Monday 6th July 2026,
following a comprehensive recruitment process.
Mr Quabba has been serving as Acting Health Service Chief Executive since October 2025.
North West HHS Board Chair, Mrs Tanya Arnold, said Mr Quabba's appointment reflected
the Board's confidence in his leadership, experience and commitment to the future of
healthcare across North West Queensland.
"Andrew has demonstrated exceptional leadership during his time as Acting Health Service
Chief Executive and has a deep understanding of the opportunities and challenges of
delivering healthcare across our vast and diverse region," Mrs Arnold said.
"His journey reflects the very best of North West HHS. Since joining the organisation as a
pharmacist, Andrew has progressed through a number of leadership roles while building a
life and raising his young family in the North West.
"Andrew is deeply connected to our communities and understands firsthand both the
challenges and opportunities that come with living and working in rural and remote
Queensland.
"The Board is proud to appoint a leader who not only understands the North West, but who
is genuinely part of it."
Mr Quabba said he was honoured to be appointed to the role.
"It is a privilege to lead North West Hospital and Health Service and continue working
alongside our dedicated staff, partners and communities," Mr Quabba said.
