Have your say on local health services

North West Hospital and Health Service (NWHHS) is conducting a local area needs assessment (LANA) in partnership with the community, health professionals and service providers.

What is a local area needs assessment?

A local area needs assessment (LANA) is a systematic method of identifying unmet health and healthcare needs of a population and determining if changes are required to meet those unmet needs.

Who can get involved in the assessment?

We want to engage with people in our local communities including health practitioners and service providers throughout North West Queensland to identify important health and service needs. We want to learn more about the health conditions that impact people who live in North West Queensland and what helps or prevents people from achieving good health and well-being.

How to be involved:

1.Review the current health data (via links below)

2. Complete the online survey

3. Attend a community consultation session

What happens with the information?

What you tell us will help us understand the region’s health service and community needs. The information will be compiled together with a systematic analysis of health data and used to develop the LANA. The outcomes of the LANA will help guide local decision making and form the basis of future NWHHS plans.

We will keep you informed about the progress of the Local Area Health Needs Assessment.  We will listen to your feedback and acknowledge concerns and aspirations for health services.  We will provide feedback on how public input influenced the final report.

Once finalised, the findings of the NWHHS Local Area Needs Assessment will be published on our website.

Thank you!

We appreciate you taking the time to complete the survey. Your contributions are highly valued. For any inquiries, please contact
